Emily Soto

Coach. Emily joined CrossFit Edwardsville in March 2013 in order to enhance her roller derby training. Not only has she learned how to be fit for life, but she also became intrigued by the sport of fitness. She acquired her Level 1-Trainer Certificate in May of 2014. As a Level 1 Trainer she is excited to be a part of CFE's mission to improve EVERY area of your life- not just your fitness!

Special Educator. Emily also holds a bachelors in Special Education and Elementary Education and a Masters in Education with a focus on Educational Leadership. She works as a special education teacher for Special School District in the Saint Louis Metro Area. As she puts it, “Teaching is my passion. It provides me the opportunity to learn and grow with families from all walks of life as well as the fulfillment that changing lives brings.” At CFE, she channels her teaching and leadership skills into helping clients maximize their fitness results.

Fringe Athlete. Emily played Roller Derby with the Arch Rival Rollergirls from December 2005- March 2014. She played all positions on her Division 1 travel team that was ranked 11th in the world. She was also a captain of the All-Star Team for part of her time on the team. She also served on the coaching committee and various other facets of running the league. She had the opportunity to work with their brother league The St. Louis Gatekeepers. Throughout her time with both leagues she had the opportunity to coach and skate with and against some of the best roller derby athletes in the world. Her competitive and growth-oriented mindset is part of her coaching style, and she pushes our clients to seek growth and progress every day. She teaches that, ”consistency is key and it’s all about routine. Starting a routine is easy, but maintaining it is hard. That’s what all the coaches are here to help you do. Nutrition is the foundation for a healthy lifestyle.”
